GRAB A PENNY

The only instance of penny loafers in my memory are that of my Mom’s. I remember back when I was about six, I asked her why there was money in her shoes. She proceeded to show off a pair of really “L.L. Bean-esque” 1980′s flat penny loafers. Super fun. Not.

These are better. Much better.

I would do just about anything for that navy pair from Frye. There isn’t a shoe they make I wouldn’t die to have.

What is your take on penny loafers? Chic or just old school?

LONG LOCKS

I have been contemplating attempting to grow my hair out again. I always seem to hit a “chopping point” when it seems to get right past my shoulders. Maybe I will stick to it this time so I can score one of these out of it.

A YEAR OF CHANGE

There are only a few short moments left of 2011. It is almost overwhelming. So many wonderful things have happened this year, I find it almost bittersweet to turn a new leaf on a new year. As I write this post I cannot help but to think exactly how I felt this time last year; unfulfilled, miserable, trapped, uncertain, hopeful, desperate. I can now say I feel none of these things. I had a plan, a partner and undying commitment.

Things worked out. I was given an opportunity, an amazing “game changer.” Not a day goes by where I don’t take a moment to realize how incredible our life is.

Moving back to Maryland and being employed as a graphic designer makes every miserable moment of the past worth it. I am incredibly humbled as this year comes to a close. I am surrounded by amazing people who encourage me and accept me at my best and worst moments. I finally feel as if life as I envisioned it at 12 years old is finally coming true. I am a graphic designer. I even have business cards. I designed them. I have an amazing job and I work for incredible people.

I sincerely hope 2012 is the year I can enjoy the fruits of our labor. This year is about being in the moment and enjoying every second of every day.

Happy New Year! Bring it on 2012!!

BACK AT IT

Phew! That took ages, but I think I am back in the saddle. The re-design isn’t quite right but we are going to push forward until all the kinks are worked out.

With that said, I have been dying to post about these since I saw them in the mall three weeks ago. They are possibly the most perfect flat brown boots you ever did see. Officially on my Christmas list, even though I know they are a rouge venture. Hey Santa, wink wink!

I HATE PRICETAGS

This gem was delivered to my inbox this morning by none other than the to die for Madewell.

I just wish it didn’t have a price tag of $168. So sad. But entirely gorgeous.
